Chancellor’s Inauguration: Commitment to Bringing UIS to More Quality, Progress and Prosperity

UIS – Dr. Ir. Larisang, MT., IPU. officially appointed as Chancellor of Ibnu Sina University, period 2024-2029, Monday (26/8/2024). He is committed to taking this green campus in a better direction in producing a superior generation.

“This is an initial milestone. We want to bring quality Ibnu Sina.
If he has quality then he will definitely advance. If it goes forward, then all stakeholders
Prosperous.

Advance because of quality,
Prosperous because of its quality,” said the former dean of the UIS Faculty of Engineering.

The expected quality of course refers to the minimum standards in the regulations at the Ministry of Education and Culture. However, this minimum standard must be exceeded in order to accelerate the birth of more competitive human resources.

Apart from that, continued Larisang, this progress was certainly not carried out independently. It requires collaboration from all stakeholders, including campuses in Indonesia, especially Riau Islands.

“We cannot progress together without collaboration and without synergy with other universities. We will be partners, sharing with each other.

“The power of cooperation,” he explained.

The oath of office itself was led by the Chairman of Yapista, Drg. Andi Tenri Ummu, MM. and witnessed by the foundation’s supervisors and all employees under the holy book Al-Quran. Also present at the inauguration were the Governor of the Riau Islands, represented by the Head of the Riau Islands Education Office, Dr. Andi Agung, Governor of the Riau Islands for the 2024-2029 period, Ismet Abdullah, Chair of LLDikti XVII Dr. H. Nopriadi. S.KM M.Kes, Chairman of PII Kepri, Dr. Mulya and heads of universities in Kepri.

Dr. Nopriadi, M. Kes. In his speech, he hoped that the entire Academic Community would see the new leadership able to bring this university towards higher achievements. Directing universities to become centers of superior education and research that produce graduates who are competent and globally competitive.

Strengthening synergies between faculties, departments, as well as increasing cooperation with industry and international institutions are also expected to be priorities in Dr. Larisang’s leadership.

“Our task as educators is to produce a generation that is not only intelligent, but also has character. “With solid cooperation between university leaders, lecturers and the entire academic community, we can achieve noble goals,” he said.

On that occasion, Dr. Larisang, took the oath of office for the structural members under him, starting from the vice chancellor, dean, Head of Study Program to the fields.
